Drill & Excel On the Piano Book 2 is a 200 page piano method book for the late beginning student. It’s in 3 chapters: chapter 1 in the C position for both hands (recaps book 1), chapter 2 in the G position, and chapter 3 in the D position. It includes note reading assignments, rhythm drills, scales, exercises, and 60 original songs that teach what is learned in each chapter. By the end of Drill & Excel On the Piano Book 2, the beginner is reading fluently. Each chapter ends with the student writing their own song. The end of the book has bonus Christmas songs for each chapter and includes assignment sheets, empty manuscript paper, notepaper, and a practice chart. It’s the only book you or your student will need!

Book 2 of Drill and Excel is a continuation of all the drills that the student was excelling with in the beginner book. The information the student learned in the beginner book becomes more relevant as new keys are added. Playing songs becomes more exciting as pieces sound more difficult. When my students feel they are really showing they can play, they want to keep taking lessons.

Very sequential and clear. This book will enable every aspiring pianist to achieve their goals as a musician/pianist.

I love these piano method books! They are so different from others I have used. Many books are quick paced and jump from one concept to another without providing extra practice. This book however, provides a lot of opportunity to practice key concepts. By the end of each lesson/unit, you feel like you’ve mastered that area. I love it!
