Drill & Excel On the Piano Books

Drill & Excel On the Piano book series has 4 books for the beginning to the late intermediate student.  Each book is well over 100 pages in 3 chapters.  Each chapter starts with “What You Need To Know” outlining the information in the chapter in terms of notes, rhythm, key signature and scale, and other musical information needed.  Each chapter in Drill & Excel On the Piano books has note reading and interval written assignments, rhythm drills, exercises, special exercises, and 60 original songs that are written specifically for each chapter information. Book 1 starts with the right hand in chapter 1, left hand in chapter 2, and both hands together in chapter 3, making it so easy, anyone can learn!  In Drill & Excel On the Piano Book 1, chapters 1 and 2 offer audio accompaniment for the student to play along!  This is not only fun but teaches the student to read fluently.  It also encourages the student to write their own songs based on what they’ve learned in each chapter.  Drill & Excel On the Piano Book 2 starts with the C hand position hands together, then goes to the G and D hand position.  The 3rd  chapter introduces notes that expand outside the hand position.  In book 3 for the early intermediate student, it recaps books 1 and 2 in the first chapter, then introduces more rhythm drills, interval assignments, exercises, the A and F scale, and 60 original songs that go with each chapter’s information.  Then finally, book 4 for the late intermediate student, starts with a recap on chapter 1 for books 1-3, then more rhythm and intervals, lots of theory assignments, the B flat, and E flat scale and keys, and more songs for each chapter!  By the end of each book, a student is sight-reading the notes and rhythm for that book, and playing the piano like a pro!  Click any book below for a movie that goes through every page and commentary given by the author.
