With our piano books by ear, using chords and improvisation is now possible.  Most books offer a lot of theory, but our books go beyond that with written and playing assignments.  In Chords & Improvisation, this book helps a pianist to accompany themselves or someone else by playing chord progressions using rhythmic patterns for improvisation.  It starts with keyboard geography, then scales, and writing assignments to remember each scale and key signature.  It then goes into triads with many chord progression and rhythm patterns.  Finally, the inversion is introduced and how to find the inversion when playing one chord to another.  By the end of this book, a student can play in keys up to 4 sharps and 4 flats for all chords within the key. 

Fake It Til You Make It teaches a student to play melodies in the right hand and chords in the left hand.  This is needed to play songs from a fake book, where only the melody note is given along with the chord.  It then gives rhythm patterns for the left hand to improvise.  By the end of this book, a student can play simple songs in the keys up to 4 sharps and 4 flats from a fake book.
