Say It Play It and Create It – Teach Little Fingers to Play, is our piano method books for children.  There are two books in this series.  These books offer a different approach for children, starting out with coloring the 7 keys on the piano with the 7 colors of the rainbow to learn keyboard geography.  It then gives songs using the letter names, so the student is playing right away.  Rhythm is introduced early with rhythm drills, using a steady beat and counting.  There are also copycat games for the student to listen to and playback in a steady beat.  This teaches the student ear training and rhythm.  There are plenty of “write your own song” in this book, giving the student a chance to be creative and use the information taught for deeper learning.  Then songs are introduced with big notes using the rhythm they learned and the letter name.  By mid-way through book 2, the notation is introduced with plenty of written assignments to learn the notes.  Acronyms like “Every Good Book Does Fine” are not taught.  Instead, the notes are shown on the staff in order to show the staff’s logic.  By the end of book 2, a student is ready for the “Drill & Excel On the Piano” series.  Click each book to see a full movie going through each page and commentary given by the author.
