Color It, Say It, Play It, and Create It! A Piano method Book for Little Fingers is a 64 page piano book for students ages 4-8. It starts out coloring the keys with the 7 colors of the rainbow. Students learn notes and rhythm, and “play and say” fun songs. And finally, the students can create their own songs using the notes and rhythms they’ve learned. The staff is not introduced, however, the big notes ascend and descend, teaching the “logic” of the staff, making it an easy transition to learning notation when finished.

This book is great for my young students! I love how it uses colors for each note, as well as introducing the idea of the notes moving up and down without confusing students with unfamiliar notation right off the bat. I use this for my younger students and I’m starting to use it for my preK son as well.
